We rode up the mountain and went searching for a campsite.
The first trail we took was very difficult, especially with our fully loaded bikes. There were deep muddy ruts zig-zagging across the trail. We both managed to get through this nastiness without dumping our bikes, only to find a closed gate up around the corner. So we turned around and went back down the way we came. (Too bad we have no pictures from this section.)
We tried another side trail to check the next camp spot. More ruts and mud holes, but we managed with no problems. This is yellow post camp site #5, which is on 2N84.
On Saturday we rode 3N14, 3N12, 2N84 and 3N16. The trails were a bit easier once we got back onto the main fire roads. Great ride through Holcomb Valley, all the way out to Baldwin Lake...
Down the mountain and back onto Highway 38. We rode into town and stopped at a Mexican Restaurant for some lunch. Good stuff. Then we rode around the lake and back up to our camp site to rest and relax...
After breakfast we went out for another ride, and eventually ended up back in camp.
Eventually we packed up camp and headed down the mountain.
The spring flowers were awesome. I got
a few pictures of Mike on the way down the mountain.

It was a about 70 degrees up on the mountain (very nice!). As we rode down into the valley the temperature increased to 103 degrees! HOT HOT HOT! I had to soak in a cold shower to cool off when I got home. Here's mike on the way home:
